Middle School (Grades 7-10)
The Secondary School at the Amman Baccalaureate School was the first school in the Middle East to be authorised to implement the IB Middle Years Programme in 2002.
We pride ourselves on offering a high quality, international education to students in Grades 7 to 10. Students are provided with an in-depth study of the conventional subject areas, within a challenging framework, which emphasises the teaching of life skills for its students and prepares them for the challenges of the 21st Century. This holistic approach to education, combined with the fostering of concept-based learning and international-mindedness, promotes in students the values of understanding, tolerance and respect. Through our Academic and Co-curricular programmes, we aspire to create responsible, motivated, confident and courteous students, who are equipped with strong social and academic values that will enable them to take an informed, active interest in their local and global communities.
All students are encouraged to participate in a variety of the creative, sporting and service activities available to them, to ensure that they are well-rounded individuals. We have an extensive student engagement programme and links with other academic institutions. Each student is a member of a Mentor Group and a House, through which the wellbeing and the House activities programmes are implemented. We also have an active Student Council and Student Voice is very important to us.
Great importance is placed on the wellbeing of our students. We strive to create a nurturing environment that supports all students, as well as giving them a positive, fun and challenging school experience, both through their academic learning and through the many events, activities and experiences that take place throughout the year. We are proud of our students and privileged to work with such a talented group of young people.
