Bilingual Focus

From the earliest years of the KG to the pomp and circumstance of the Grade 12 graduation, Arabic and English share importance and value at the Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS). It is taken for granted that both languages are utilised and mastered by the time an ABS student leaves for university.

Both languages are given equal weight in their education and also in their utilisation to learn other courses. Arabic and English lessons start in KG1 with ABS's youngest students and continue through Grade 10. By Grades 11 and 12, students' mastery of both languages is apparent as teachers employ both to convey concepts and ideas with a richness that is unavailable to either language by itself.

While Arabic and English are both taught and used for teaching at the school, other elective languages offered to students are French and Spanish.
